Every Smile Is Beautiful

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s iconic Polaroids and my belief in recognizing the beauty in everyone, I conceptualized and art directed a campaign for our company, Made by Dentists, that does the opposite of what large dental brands often portray. While most brands focus on “perfect” smiles, we wanted to highlight the real, unpolished, and unique smiles that make each person special—imperfections and all. Using an instant camera, we captured our crew, friends, and people we meet from all walks of life. The tactile, imperfect nature of Polaroids felt like the perfect medium to showcase these authentic moments. We’ve displayed the photos on a wall in our small beach town office as a daily reminder of the beautiful, real smiles that inspire us every day.
